I have used this backpack both as travel companion on flights (worked fine as cabin luggage), as well as for weekend trips by train. It is currently my daily carry for work commutes.The backpack sits comfortable on my slender 1.80 m body, and sports a modern, somewhat understated design. Some might say boring, but to me, this is ideal, as I need it to work in both casual and professional settings. It has gotten me some positive comments.The build quality is exceptional, both outside and inside. No unclean seams, no zipper that occasionally annoys you by getting caught in a stray thread, nothing is too loose or too tight. I sometimes carry expensive things through bad weather, and my trust in the protection has not been betrayed.The outside of the backpack has ample opportunities to attach stuff to it. The inside is mostly one big compartment, one laptop compartment, and a few smaller pouches for pens, smartphone, cables, and such. I have used the laptop compartment for two laptops occasionally (16 and 14 inches), and it worked out squeezing both in. Furthermore, there are some smaller outside pouches that fit a passport or similarly-sized items.The "distinct feature" of this backpack is that the notebook and main compartment can be accessed both via the front opening, as well as via a side zipper. I originally thought this was gimmicky, but I found it useful in some situations. E.g. you could grab your notebook or tablet without having to dig through the main compartment.Note that this is a jack-of-all-trades backpack - it is not great for travelling (too small), and not great for daily commute (not enough compartments/organization options), but it is pretty competent at both. I wanted one backpack that performs well in all situations, so I am happy with this. You might not be.What I have missed occasionally is a good way to store one larger, flat item in addition to the laptop. Think tablet or handwritten notebook (good pen storage is included).
