This case is incredible.It has a unique design and the hardware, such as the hinges and latches are of appropriate quality. I have no worries about it breaking or falling apart due to the various smart decisions Crossrock made in designing this case, many of which can be seen in the product images. Four good quality bumpers are placed nicely to protect the hinges when setting the case down, and the case rests about 2 cm. off the floor like that. There are also bumpers giving clearance to the backside of the case for when you inevitably have lay the case flat to get your mandolin out. These are part of the shell/mold of the case which allows you to set the case on more delicate surfaces, unlike the other bumpers made of metallic hardware added on by the hinges. The case mold, made of some kind of scratch-proof polymer or something, is also extruded in ways that allow the case to sit vertically upright and to lean at low angles. It is also contoured on the backside making not only look cool, but protects the strap-loop hardware and gives clearance to the straps, when attached. The quality of the straps are really nice, not to mention straps are a nice touch. That was a major selling point for me because my previous case had a shoulder strap, and I can choose to go single strap with this one instead of the two provided. The inside of the case is good quality and pretty much what you'd expect to see on the inside of a mandolin case.5 stars because this case is awesome, affordable and I don't have anything bad to say about it.
